Search Federal Inmate Releases
Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities nationwide are relevant to Pendleton County only when a person entered federal custody. No federal prison was identified in Pendleton County. A local jail’s temporary custody of a federal detainee does not by itself make that person a BOP prisoner.
Federal Release Search Routes
Use the BOP Inmate Locator for sentenced federal prisoners. Search by register, DCDC, FBI, or INS number when known, or use the biographical fields. The locator generally covers records from 1982 onward, with some older material.
| Custody | Route |
|---|---|
| Sentenced federal imprisonment | BOP Inmate Locator |
| Federal pretrial or transport | USMS and federal court |
| Immigration detention | ICE ODLS |
| Kentucky state sentence | KDOC KOOL |
Read BOP Release Results
A result may show a current institution, “Released” with a date, or “Not in BOP custody.” BOP notes that calculated release dates can change. “Not in BOP custody” does not prove the person is living in Pendleton County. It can reflect release, transfer, USMS pretrial custody, or locator limits, and it says nothing about an unrelated Kentucky hold.
USMS and ICE Records
The U.S. Marshals Service manages many federal pretrial and transport functions but offers no general public real-time roster like a county jail. Use the federal court case, counsel, and official USMS inquiry route. ICE’s Online Detainee Locator System covers civil immigration detention, not a criminal sentence. Search it with an A-number and country of birth or the required biographical fields.
Pendleton Federal Transfer Context
A dated Bourbon regional-jail snapshot included federal detainees, but that does not prove any named Pendleton person was federal or that Bourbon had an ICE contract. Obtain Bourbon’s release or transfer destination first. Then select BOP, USMS, or ICE based on the stated agency. Do not merge these systems.
The Pendleton County release search starts with Bourbon for ordinary adult local detention.
