Understanding Pendleton County Releases
Pendleton County does not operate an adult detention center. Its sheriff says adult prisoners are transported to Bourbon County Regional Jail in Paris. That arrangement splits the paper trail. Pendleton agencies may hold arrest and transport records, Bourbon holds the booking and physical release record, and the Pendleton Circuit Clerk holds the court orders that may have authorized release. A person may also move into Kentucky Department of Corrections custody, another jail, federal custody, or immigration detention. The word “released” must always be tied to an agency and event.
A name normally disappears from Bourbon's current-inmate portal when that custody episode ends. The disappearance does not say why. It can follow bond, time served, a court order, sentence completion, or a transfer. It can also reflect a spelling problem or delay in the portal. For Pendleton County released inmates, the most reliable proof is a release record that identifies the time, authority, type, and destination, checked against the court or receiving system when needed.
Pendleton County Release Paths
The end of a Bourbon jail entry can lead to several very different places. Court language and the jail's destination field matter more than the fact that a person is absent from the current list. Kentucky systems also distinguish release to parole or mandatory reentry supervision from final discharge. Use the event name exactly as the source reports it.
| Release type | What it means | Where to check next |
|---|---|---|
| Bond or court order | The court authorized release, subject to any other hold and jail processing. | Pendleton court case and Bourbon release record |
| Time served or sentence end | The local custody term ended. | Bourbon release record and court judgment |
| Probation | The court placed the person under community supervision. | Court order, KOOL, and District 14 |
| Parole or mandatory reentry | KDOC released a state inmate into supervision. | KOOL and the dated KDOC Daily Releases report |
| Transfer | Custody continued with another jail, KDOC, USMS, BOP, or ICE. | Receiving agency's system |
| Dismissal or acquittal | The case outcome may support release, but another hold can still apply. | Court file plus Bourbon's final release entry |
Pendleton County Release Record Fields
The useful record is the booking-and-release entry for one custody episode, not a broad request asking an employee to decide whether someone is free. Give Bourbon enough detail to locate the episode and ask for the existing fields. A response may redact medical, victim, juvenile, security, investigative, or other exempt information. A code may need a data dictionary or a plain description from the custodian.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name, date of birth, booking number | Connects the record to the correct person and custody episode. |
| Arresting agency | Shows which agency began the local process. |
| Booking date and time | Marks entry into the Bourbon jail record. |
| Charges, court, and bond | Links custody to the case and any bond terms then reported. |
| Holds | May explain why release on one charge did not end all custody. |
| Release date and time | Records when Bourbon ended that physical custody episode. |
| Release type and authority | Identifies bond, court order, time served, transfer, or another coded event. |
| Destination or transfer | Separates community release from continued custody elsewhere. |
| Booking photograph | Identifies the intake image, subject to law, exemptions, and custodian policy. |
Request Pendleton County Release Records
Send the request to the office that holds the record. Bourbon County Regional Jail is the likely custodian for its booking, photo, and physical release entry. Its official site lists 101 Legion Road, Paris, Kentucky 40361, 859-987-2137, and s.norris@bourboncountydetention.com. No dedicated jail request form, fee schedule, retention rule, or booking-photo policy was found on the official pages reviewed. Call first to identify the records custodian and accepted submission method. Do not send sensitive identifiers to an unconfirmed address.
- Identify the person, date of birth or booking number if lawfully known, approximate booking date, and Pendleton as the arrest or case county.
- Ask for the booking sheet, booking photograph, release date and time, release code, releasing authority, destination, transfer notation, and holds.
- Request electronic delivery, redaction of exempt material instead of full withholding, and advance notice before costs exceed an amount you choose.
- If a code is unclear, ask for the record layout or data dictionary. If the office lacks the record, ask it to identify the likely custodian.
- Use the Pendleton clerk for judicial case copies and KDOC's own records route for state correctional records.
Kentucky's Open Records Act is mainly found at KRS 61.870 through 61.884. KRS 61.872 addresses access, KRS 61.874 covers copies and permitted costs, and KRS 61.880 governs responses and Attorney General review. Check the current text before relying on a deadline or fee because those rules can change.
Pendleton Release Records and Expungement
The Kentucky Open Records Act favors access while preserving specific exemptions. KDOC records also face KRS 197.025 restrictions, so a public KOOL field or daily release list does not make a full prison or supervision file public. Court records follow the Kentucky Court of Justice policy rather than the county executive-branch form. Juvenile, sealed, medical, victim, and security material needs special care.
Expungement can lawfully change what is visible. Under KRS 431.076, qualifying acquittals and dismissals with prejudice entered on or after July 15, 2020 are automatically expunged after 30 days unless the person objects. Other dismissal and conviction routes have different rules and waits. A missing court case should be described as “not located through this channel.” It does not prove acquittal, expungement, or that no case existed.
Why Pendleton Releases Cross Counties
A Pendleton arrest and a Bourbon release are parts of the same path, but different offices create each record. The Pendleton County Jailer handles weekday daytime, in-state, and court transports. The sheriff handles specified night, weekend, and out-of-state extradition work. Those duties explain movement; they do not publish a community-release schedule or prove the final destination.
For a complete trail, request the arrest or transport entry from the Pendleton office that created it, the booking-and-release record from Bourbon, and the order or docket from the Pendleton Circuit Clerk. A request sent only to Pendleton County government can miss Bourbon's jail-management record. Likewise, a Bourbon record may show a transfer without containing the receiving agency's full later history.
Pendleton Bond Release Timing
Kentucky Pretrial Services operates statewide around the clock. It interviews and assesses eligible bailable arrestees and supplies information for a judge's decision. The court sets or changes bond. Bourbon then performs the physical discharge after it receives the order, resolves holds, and completes jail processing. These are separate events, so a court entry can appear before a person walks out.
Pendleton's sheriff directs questions about a prisoner's bond amount to Bourbon. Neither that direction nor Pretrial Services creates a public minute-by-minute release feed. For proof, read the judge's order and obtain Bourbon's release time. If the jail record shows a hold or transfer, satisfaction of the Pendleton bond may not have ended custody.
Search Pendleton County Released Inmates
Start with identity, the likely custody system, and an approximate date. There is no official Pendleton or Bourbon recent-release feed, so a named-person search must build proof from the appropriate sources. Do not treat a blank result as a legal conclusion.
- Check the Bourbon current-inmate portal. A match indicates current reported custody, not release. An absent name needs more work.
- Call Bourbon or request the booking-and-release record for the correct custody episode.
- Review the Pendleton District or Circuit Court case for bond, dismissal, sentence, probation, warrant, or transfer orders.
- Search KOOL for a state prisoner or supervised person, then check the dated KDOC Daily Releases PDF for an actual state release event.
- Use VINELink for custody status and alerts, but independently confirm any event with the source agency.
- Use BOP, USMS, or ICE channels only when the record supports a federal or immigration path.
KDOC Search for Pendleton Releases
Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, or KOOL, covers KDOC inmates and several community-supervision categories. It is broader than the prison population but is not a complete archive of short county-jail stays. Search by the least amount of accurate information first, compare aliases and identifiers, and read status, location, sentence, and supervision fields together. A projected date can change. A supervision start supports release from confinement into supervision, not final discharge from the sentence.
| KOOL field | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Name and aliases | Resolve spelling and identity differences. |
| DOC number | Match the person across KOOL, Daily Releases, and parole material. |
| Status | Distinguish incarceration, supervision, absconder categories, and other reported states. |
| Institution or supervision location | Shows the KDOC facility or district tied to the record. |
| Projected or good-time date | Shows a current calculation, not a guaranteed exit. |
| Supervision begin and end | Helps distinguish active supervision from its completion. |
| Parole information | Shows hearing actions and proposed dates when supplied. |
For the actual state event, check the KDOC Daily Releases index. Its dated PDFs list DOC number, name, release type, releasing facility, and felony class. That archive is stronger evidence of the event than a projected date alone.
No Pendleton Recent Release Feed
No official rolling 24-hour or 72-hour released-inmate list was found for Pendleton or Bourbon in the official sites and indexed channels reviewed through July 19, 2026. Bourbon's product is expressly a current-inmate list. It supplies current charge and bond information, but no released tab, archive duration, update cadence, or release fields were confirmed. The Released Last 24 Hours guide explains how to replace the missing feed with a release-record request, the latest court action, and a dated KDOC report.
Never create a release list by comparing two snapshots and naming everyone who disappeared. That method cannot distinguish a true community release from transfer, lag, a correction, or a search mismatch. It also lacks the release authority and destination that give the event meaning.
Pendleton Supervision After Release
Probation is imposed by the court, while parole follows a prison term and Parole Board action. Mandatory reentry supervision is another release-to-supervision status. KOOL may display the supervision type, begin and end dates, and office location. Pendleton is served through KDOC District 14, with a Cynthiana satellite listed as the nearest office. Check the person's KOOL location before calling because assignments can change.
A warrant or absconder label needs careful wording. KOOL has a search category for absconded probation and parole offenders, but a result does not replace the warrant, court file, or confirmation from the supervising agency. Completion of supervision is also different from release from jail. The Pendleton parole and probation guide sets out that verification path.
Pendleton Release Alerts and Transfers
Kentucky VINE receives information from county jail booking systems and state institutions. Search the correct person and agency, then register on both a local booking and KDOC record when both exist. An alert may concern release, transfer, escape, death, a court-ordered event, or an approaching state release. Preserve the event label. Kentucky reported false DOC release alerts on February 3, 2026, so every alert needs confirmation from Bourbon, KOOL and Daily Releases, or the court.
Federal custody requires a different chain. The BOP locator can report “Released” with a date or “Not in BOP custody,” but the latter can include transfer, USMS pretrial custody, or a coverage limit. ICE's locator concerns civil immigration detention. No federal prison or ICE facility was identified in Pendleton County, and Bourbon's dated federal detainee count does not establish an ICE contract or the status of a named Pendleton person.
Where Pendleton Release Records Appear
Choose the source based on the type and stage of custody. No single portal covers all Pendleton County released inmates.
| Source | Still in custody | After release or transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Bourbon current portal | Shows people presently reported at the regional jail. | A person usually disappears; it does not explain why. |
| Bourbon release record | May show the active booking and holds. | Shows time, type, authority, and destination when recorded. |
| Pendleton court | May show bond, warrant, and detention orders. | May show dismissal, sentence, probation, or release authority. |
| KOOL and Daily Releases | Shows KDOC custody where covered. | Can show supervision and an actual state release report. |
| VINELink | Reports participating agency status. | May report an out-of-custody event or date, subject to confirmation. |
| BOP or ICE | Covers the relevant federal or immigration system. | May show a BOP release date or ICE routing within system limits. |
Pendleton Release Agencies and Facilities
The map includes the offices and custody systems a Pendleton case may cross. Each page follows the records held by that specific agency.
- Bourbon County Regional Jail holds Pendleton adults and creates the local booking and release record.
- Pendleton County Jailer’s Office performs designated transports but operates no jail.
- Pendleton County Sheriff’s Office holds its own arrest and transport records.
- Kentucky Department of Corrections institutions and contract jail beds cover state sentences and releases.
- Kentucky Probation and Parole District 14 handles listed forms of community supervision.
- Federal Bureau of Prisons facilities nationwide apply only to federal imprisonment.
Bourbon Release System Snapshot
A December 18, 2025 KDOC weekly report listed Bourbon County Regional Jail at 213 people for 197 beds, including 93 federal inmates. The figures are a dated, one-day view of the regional facility. They are not a Pendleton population figure, annual statistic, release count, or statement about any named person's status.
The mix still gives useful context. Someone who leaves Bourbon's current roster may have gone to the community, another county, KDOC, or a federal custodian. A federal category in the jail report does not establish an ICE contract, and it does not prove that a specific Pendleton detainee had a federal case. Follow the release destination and the receiving system.
Pendleton Court Files After Release
The Pendleton Circuit Clerk is the gateway to the underlying District and Circuit Court file. The Administrative Office of the Courts does not hold every local case file. Search by name or case number where available, then ask the clerk when a file is old, restricted, sealed, archived, or not found online. Older records may require an archive locator and some may have reached authorized destruction.
A court order and a jail release time answer different questions. The order can authorize release, dismiss a charge, impose probation, or change bond. Bourbon still must process the person and check other holds. Conversely, the end of Bourbon custody can be a transfer that leaves the Pendleton case open. Read both records before describing the result.
