Projected vs Actual Release Date
A projected date is a calculation, not proof of release. KOOL may show a minimum expiration or good-time release date, expected time to serve, parole eligibility date, maximum expiration date, or a proposed parole date. Each label answers a different question. A pretrial person at Bourbon has no sentence-based date; the court order, bond, and holds control the event.
Physical discharge may occur after a judge signs an order because the jail must receive it, process it, and check other holds. Transfer to another custodian is also not community release.
How to Find a Pendleton County Inmate's Inmate Release Date
Begin by identifying the custodian. Pendleton has no adult jail; local adults go to Bourbon County Regional Jail. State-sentenced people may appear in KOOL even when held in a contract jail bed.
- Search KOOL by name or DOC number and open the full record.
- Read every date label and the current institution or supervision location.
- For a Bourbon sentence, ask the jail for the existing sentence and release record.
- Compare the Pendleton court judgment, credits, and later orders.
- Check KDOC Daily Releases for an actual state event.
- Confirm holds or transfers with the agency that owns them.

Good-Time Credit and How Release Dates Are Computed
KRS 197.045 governs major state sentence credits. It includes qualifying prior-confinement credit, approved program and education credits, discretionary good-behavior credit, and meritorious-service credit. Awards are not automatic in every case and may be denied or forfeited. State inmates in local jails can receive applicable credits under state rules, but that does not put every pretrial or county-sentenced person under the state formula.
For local sentences, KRS 441.127 authorizes specified work, education, treatment, meritorious-service, and good-behavior credits. No public Bourbon-specific formula was found, so only the jail and sentence record can show what was awarded. Kentucky also does not impose an eighty-five-percent rule on every prisoner. KRS 439.3401 applies offense- and date-specific limits to covered violent offenders.
Why a Inmate Release Date Changes
A release date changes when the legal or factual inputs change. Never subtract a generic number of days from the sentence.
| Factor | Possible effect |
|---|---|
| Credit award or loss | Moves a computed expiration date |
| New court order | Changes sentence, bond, or custody authority |
| Detainer or hold | May cause transfer instead of community release |
| Parole action | May grant, defer, deny, or require serve-out |
| Consecutive sentence | Changes the combined computation |
Parole eligibility is only the point at which board review may be possible. It is not a promised exit date. Mandatory reentry supervision may begin before projected sentence completion for an eligible person, yet the person remains under legal supervision.
Confirming a Release Date
Register for a pending event through the Pendleton County VINELink release check, but verify any alert. For state custody, compare KOOL with KDOC Daily Releases. For Bourbon custody, call the jail and request the release record. A court order proves legal authority, while the custodial record supplies the actual exit or transfer time.
Kentucky documented false DOC VINE alerts in February 2026. That event shows why no automated notice should stand alone. Confirm the event with the originating jail, KDOC, or court.
Pendleton State Releases by Date
Kentucky publishes date-by-date KDOC Daily Releases reports. Each report can provide a DOC number, name, release type, releasing facility, and highest felony class. Observed labels include minimum-expiration discharge, shock probation, and mandatory reentry supervision. The releasing facility may be a state prison or a county detention center holding a state inmate.
This actual-event archive is stronger confirmation than trying to interpret a projected or good-time date alone. Match the DOC number back to KOOL and compare the Pendleton court case when the legal basis matters. The report is statewide, so it is not a list of all people released from Bourbon or all Pendleton arrests.
Pendleton County Sentence Boundaries
A county booking, state sentence, and federal sentence use different date systems. Bourbon County Regional Jail can hold a pretrial person, a locally sentenced person, or a state inmate in an approved jail bed. KOOL does not cover every short county stay. BOP dates apply only to federal imprisonment.
Before reading any date, identify the case and custodian. “Not in BOP custody” does not resolve a Kentucky hold. Absence from Bourbon's current list does not distinguish release from transfer or data lag. A complete check follows the person from the court order to the custodian's actual event record.
Pendleton Local Jail Credits
State inmates held in local jails require a separate check. Kentucky regulation provides that qualified state inmates in jail receive applicable statutory good time, meritorious credit, educational credit, and credit for approved jail substance-program work. That rule does not make every pretrial person or locally sentenced Bourbon detainee eligible for the state formula.
For a local sentence, KRS 441.127 authorizes specified service credits for approved work, education, drug treatment, exceptionally meritorious service, and good behavior under its conditions. The jailer policy and custody record determine what was awarded. Research found no public Bourbon-specific calculation policy. A reader should not subtract a standard number of days or announce a date from sentence length alone.
Credit for prior confinement can affect a state calculation, while consecutive sentences require their own treatment. Disciplinary action may cause credit to be denied or forfeited. Read the labeled KOOL fields, obtain the sentence or credit order when needed, and confirm the event through KDOC Daily Releases or the jail release record.
Pendleton Parole Dates Differ
A parole eligibility date marks when board review may become possible. It is not a promised release date. Rules vary with sentence length and stricter offense provisions. KRS 439.3401 controls when it imposes a stricter minimum. The offense and sentence date matter.
A hearing can lead to release, deferment, or serve-out. Preserve each KOOL label and compare it with final board action. KDOC Daily Releases is stronger proof that incarceration ended.
Request Pendleton Release Proof
When a date is unclear, request an existing record instead of asking an agency to calculate a sentence. For KDOC, seek a release record, sentence-status summary, or daily release report. KRS 197.025 restricts some inmate records even when KOOL displays basic fields.
For Bourbon custody, ask for the booking-and-release record, including time, release type, authority, destination, transfer, and holds. Request the Pendleton judgment, credit order, or bond order for the legal basis. Together they show why a date changed and whether the event was community release or transfer.
