District 14 Release Supervision
The Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole administers community supervision. District 14 covers Pendleton, Bourbon, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Nicholas, Robertson, Scott, and Woodford counties. The Kentucky Parole Board makes parole decisions, but District 14 officers carry out the community supervision work assigned by KDOC.
A person can be outside a jail or prison and still remain subject to an active sentence or supervision term. KOOL may identify parole, probation, mandatory reentry supervision, post-incarceration supervision, conditional discharge, or another KDOC category. Preserve the exact label. Each term has a different legal source and does not mean the person is still confined.
Pendleton Parole and Probation Compared
Parole and probation both permit a person to live in the community under rules, yet they begin in different ways. A Pendleton court may impose probation without a state-prison admission. Parole follows release from a state sentence after a decision under Kentucky law. Neither term should be used as a synonym for bond release from Bourbon.
| Record point | Parole | Probation |
|---|---|---|
| Basic source | Release from a prison sentence through the parole process | Sentence or order entered by the court |
| Decision record | Parole Board material and KDOC status | Pendleton District or Circuit Court case |
| Public verification | KOOL, then the listed supervision office | KOOL where covered, plus the court order |
| End point | Expiration or discharge under the governing record | Court or KDOC completion shown by the proper record |
A Bourbon release on bond ends the current jail episode while the criminal case continues. It is not probation unless a judge actually entered probation. Likewise, a transfer from Bourbon to KDOC is continued custody, not parole.
Verify Pendleton Release Supervision
Begin with identifiers that separate people who share a name. A DOC number is strongest for a KDOC search. A full name paired with a reliable birth date or Pendleton case number can help connect the KOOL result to the court file.
- Open the official Kentucky Online Offender Lookup and search by DOC number when known.
- If using a name, avoid an inmate-only filter because a released person may appear in a supervision category.
- Open the full result and record the exact status, supervision location, offense information, and access date.
- Use the Pendleton court case to confirm whether the order was probation, revocation, or another disposition.
- Contact the office displayed in KOOL to confirm current routing and what public status information can be provided.
KOOL is broader than a prison locator, but it is not a complete archive of every brief county booking. A Pendleton defendant released from Bourbon after a short pretrial stay may have no useful KOOL entry. For that episode, use Bourbon’s record and the Pendleton court case instead.
District 14 Cynthiana Release Office
Pendleton County has no named in-county KDOC supervision office on the official statewide list. District 14’s Cynthiana satellite is the nearest listed office. That local routing detail matters because calling an unrelated county office can delay verification, yet the office shown on the individual KOOL record should still control.

The main District 14 office is at 80 Thomas Lane, Versailles, Kentucky 40383. Published telephone numbers are 859-873-5549 and 859-873-6825. Verify assignments and office hours before travel because a public page may change and an individual may be assigned through a different location.
Pendleton Absconder and Warrant Status
KOOL provides an advanced category for absconded probation and parole offenders. An absconder label generally reflects an agency allegation that the person has stopped reporting or cannot be located as required. It is not proof that the person is currently in jail, and it should not be rewritten as a new conviction.
A warrant is a separate court or agency fact. Confirm it through the Pendleton court record or the office responsible for that process. One case may also contain more than one charge, hold, or supervision term. A resolved warrant in one matter does not establish that every other case has ended.
Record the date of the KOOL check and seek direct confirmation when status matters. A live category can change after an arrest, reinstatement, revocation hearing, data correction, or discharge. The public label is a starting point, not a substitute for the underlying order.
District 14 Violations and Revocation
Supervision conditions come from the controlling order, certificate, statute, and KDOC requirements. Public summaries should not guess at a person’s conditions. Common concepts may include reporting, approved residence or travel, treatment, testing, payment duties, and compliance with law, but the actual record governs.
An alleged violation does not itself prove revocation. The process can produce continued supervision, changed conditions, a sanction, a warrant, or a court or parole action. If confinement follows, determine whether the person returned to Bourbon, entered KDOC custody, or was held somewhere else. The receiving agency, not District 14’s office page, supplies current custody data.
Pendleton Supervision Record Sources
Three records answer three different questions. KOOL reports the public KDOC status and supervision location available for the offender. The Pendleton court file explains a probation order, warrant, revocation, sentence, or later discharge recorded in the case. District 14 holds supervision material, though detailed case-management, medical, security, and third-party information may be restricted.
Ask for an existing public record rather than requesting that an officer research whether someone is “free.” Identify the person and seek a specific status or discharge record. Kentucky’s Open Records Act appears principally in KRS 61.870 through 61.884, while KRS 197.025 imposes special limits on some corrections records. Public KOOL data is usually the first state channel.
For proof that a state prisoner actually left confinement, a dated KDOC Daily Releases report may show DOC number, name, release type, and releasing institution. That event record is stronger than treating an old projected release date as an actual release.
District 14 Supervision Completion
Leaving prison and finishing supervision are distinct milestones. A parolee has left confinement but remains supervised. A probationer may never have entered state prison. Conditional discharge, post-incarceration supervision, and mandatory reentry supervision also must be described with their own displayed terms.
Completion or discharge means the applicable supervision has ended according to the responsible record. It does not erase the court case or guarantee that every public system changes at once. An older KOOL or court trail may remain, subject to retention, confidentiality, sealing, and expungement rules.
- Supervision location
- The KDOC office or unit responsible for the community case, not necessarily the person’s residence.
- Discharge
- The recorded end of a custody or supervision obligation, depending on the document using the word.
- Absconder
- A supervision status alleging loss of required contact, not proof of present confinement.
- Revocation
- An official action ending or changing community placement after the required process.
Pendleton Release Records Cross Offices
Pendleton County’s lack of an adult jail makes careful source selection vital. The sheriff or jailer may hold arrest and transport material. Bourbon County Regional Jail holds the booking and physical release or transfer record. The Pendleton clerk holds the case order. District 14 addresses later community supervision.
The Pendleton County released-inmate search and records guide explains that full chain. When a record says the person moved to federal or immigration custody, stop using KOOL and select the federal custodian shown by the transfer evidence. When it says state supervision, verify the KOOL status and displayed office. This sequence prevents a missing entry in one system from becoming an unsupported claim.
